Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles Sayles of Ithaca; a son, Samuel D. Fessenden of King Ferry and six grandchildren.
Services will be held in the family home at 1:30 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Albert Anthony, pastor of the King Ferry Presbyterian Church, will officiate.

FUNERAL RITES FOR EDWIN S. FESSENDEN
Edwin S. Fessenden, lifelong resident of King Ferry, died Wednesday morning
August 18th after a long illness.
Mr. Fessenden was born December 17th, 1868 in the home where he had always
lived. His parents Ellen Purdy and Samuel C. Fessenden were early settlers
of Cayuga County, going to the farm still owned by the Fessenden family.
His wife, Harriet Wheeler, also well known in the county, died March 18th,
1946. Mr. Fessenden was president of the King Ferry School board for
several years, and at the time of his death was president of the Venice Town
Fire Insurance Company and Treasurer of the West Genoa Cemetery Association.
He is survived by a son, Samuel D. Fessenden of King Ferry, and a daughter,
Mrs. Charles I. Sayles of Ithaca, and six grandchildren. The funeral was
held at the home at 2:30 P. M. Friday afternoon, with Rev. Albert Anthony,
officiating. The bearers were: Byron Arnold, Clinton Mosher, Earnest
Parmley, Bert Smith, Frank Corey and Horace Reynolds.
