Obituary.
Sophronia A. Tansil was born in Audrain county, Mo., June 23, 1849, died in Clarence, Mo., June 10, 1911, aged 61 years, 11 mos. and 17 days.
She came with her parents to Clarence, in 1852 and was married to William Slates, July 2, 1867. To this union three children were born, one dying in infancy, a son Edward H. and a daughter, Mrs. Nora Plahn both of St. Louis.
In May 1866 she united with the Presbyterian church in this city and remained a consistent member of the same until her decease.
For 49 years she had been a resident of this community and was highly respected by all who knew her. Faithful to her aged parents, a loving wife and a noble mother.
Her funeral was held from the Presbyterian church on Monday at 2:30 p.m. with interment in the city cemetery.
