L. E. TANSIL
---This community was shocked Saturday morning to learn that L. E. Tansil, senior member of the firm of Tansil-Grantges & Company, had passed away at his home in east La Plata, late Friday evening, death being due to heart trouble.
---Mr. Tansil had been confined to his home for the past week, but his condition was not considered as serious.
---Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Monday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. C.E. Barnett, the deceased's pastor, assisted by Rev. H.A. Browning of Fayetter, after which the remains were laid to rest in the La Plata cemetery.
---In the departure of Mr. Tansil, La Plata loses a splendid business man, and the community, a loyal citizen.
---The deceased is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. J.M. McKim of Chillicothe and Mrs. Frank Grantges of La Plata, and one son, Leon E. Tansil, cashier of the Bank of La Plata.

A previous attack had confined him to his home a few days but it was thought all danger had passed so his death came unexpected. Hi departure came as a shock to the city and community.
---Mr. Tansil was the son of Edward and Harriet Tansil, deceased. He was born in Clarence, Shelby County, Missouri, September 25, 1859.
---He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Minnie Yancy, two daughters, Mazo Grantges of La Plata and Mrs. Bessie McKim of Chillicothe; and one son, Leon E. Tansil, of this city.
---Mr. Tansil was the Senior member of the firm of Tansil-Grantges & Company. He was a highly esteemed business man and his great public spiritedness was noteworthy. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge of La Plata.
---On December 8, 1913, he united with the La Plata Christian Church and for the last five years of his life were full of christian activity and he was a Sunday School teacher and elder in the church. He was a liberal giver, not only to the local church, but in various missionary and benevolent institutions, and to all causes for public welfare. A great loss has come to the city and community in his death, but it cannot compare with the real loss to his family. They have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
---Funeral services were held at the Christian Church Monday afternoon at 2:00, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C.E. Barnett, assisted by the former pastor, Rev. H.A. Browning of Fayette and Rev. F.L. Hudson, pastor of the Presbyterian Church of this city.
---Interment was made in La Plata cemetery.
