Floyd Jackson Adams
(August 8, 1920 - July 9, 2011)

Floyd Jackson Adams, age 90, of the Long Creek Community in Robbinsville, NC, went home to Glory, early Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation. A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Rev. Clarence Adams and Della Stratton Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eugene Adams, and his brothers, Clyde, Wayne, and Charlie Adams. Floyd was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country proudly during WWII. He loved to garden and walk. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Versa Hall Adams; his daughter and son in law, Janice and Darrell Lail; his sons and daughters in law, Nolan and Diane Adams and Randall and Carol Adams, all of Robbinsville, NC; his sisters, Beulah Jordan of Marble, NC, Ethel Phillips, Elma Stratton, and Mellie Brooks, all of Robbinsville, NC. His seven grandchildren are Lisa Williams, Lora Bowman, Lana Trull, Darren Lail, Kip Adams, Kim Adams McDaniel, and Jeremy Adams. He also has seven great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, July 11, 2011 at Lone Oak Baptist Church, of which he was a long time member. The Reverends Scott Roper and Daniel Stewart will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday at the Church, prior to the service. Committal services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Lone Oak Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by Eller Rogers American Legion Post 192 and Carringer Webster VFW Post 8635. Townson-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
