Mary (Maria) was the 2nd of 13 children. Her father was a butcher and so the family moved a lot. In July 1877 along with her mother, father and siblings she would join the LDS church and eventually immigrate to Salt Lake City, Utah. She was an excellent seamstress. she would marry John Brown and become his 2nd wife (before polygamy was "outlawed" by the church). she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
