Friedrich was the father of 13 children (all born in Switzerland). His family (wife and children) all joined the LDS church in July 1877 while still in Switzerland. Four of his children died and were buried in Switzerland while the other 9 children would eventually all come to America. He lived with his wife Elizabeth in Cherry Creek, Idaho before eventually moving to Salt Lake City, Utah and passing away there.
