He was the son of Tillman Henry Carter, Sr. and Elizabeth Childress. He married to Lula Victoria Bailey (1862-1933) on March 19, 1886 in Clarke County, Georgia. They had at least the following children: Edith Mae Carter, Ima Bell Carter, and William Dillard Carter. The family bible is in my mothers possession.
