Ralph was born in 1902. His parents were from Sweden. According to the 1910 census he and his parents were living in Cook Co., IL. His father was a blacksmith. Ralph's siblings were: Gladys 1901 and Roy 1907. Ralph completed the 8th grade. In 1920 his father was no longer living. Ralph, his mother and sister lived in Cook Co. Ralph worked as a bookkeeper for a iron factory and Gladys was a clerk in a brokers office. Ralph married Grace Dorothy Wilk in Chicago in about 1925. Ralph and Grace had 3 children: Ralph Jr "Chuck" 1927, Robert 1928 and Barbara 1931. In 1940 Ralph and Grace lived in on Leland Ave. He worked as accountant for Ontonagon Copper Mine. Grace's parents, Louis and Hattie Wilk were living with them. At times Ralph and his family would live in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Their children attended Ft. Lauderdale High School. In 1952 they moved back to Chicago. Later they moved to Kalamazoo, MI where Ralph owned a carpet store. When Ralph was 65 he died from lung cancer. Grace continued to live in Kalamazoo, Michigan but would travel to visit her children.
