Mary graduated with her degree in Home Economics from New Mexico State University. She returned to the family farm in Estancia, New Mexico. She moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico with Floyd, her mother Janet and her four children. Mary and Floyd operated the Farm Bureau Insurance office in Albuquerque until 1972. Mary was actively involved with the Order of Eastern Star and was a past Worthy Matron of the Estancia Chapter. Mary was stated by close friends as being "the Rock of Gibraltar". You could always count on her. She was never wavering and was a pillar in her community.
