Jeanette Brown ,97, of 205 6th St., Idaho Falls,died Thursday morning in the Rexburg Home of her daughter of causes incident to her age.
Mrs. Brown and her husband, John A Brown, were pioneer homestaders in the Rigby area.
She was born Nov,24, 1882 at North Ogden, Utah, the daughter of Richard and Clara Judkins Jones. She was edcuted in Ogden Valley Schools and later taught grades 1 thourgh 4 in a one room school there.
She was married to John A. Brown, June 6, 1904 and moved to the Rigby area in 1918. They farmed there until 1944, when they moved to Idaho Falls. Mr. Brown died Jan. 18, 1974.
Mrs. Brown worked as a seamstress for the Idaho Falls Hospital. She was an active member of the LDS Church.
She ws an accomplisted poet and writer and performed recitations on many occasions.
Survivors include one son, Dr.Kenneth J. Brown of Resburg; five daughters, Mrs. Narvell (Jennie) Rawlins of Blackofft, Mrs. Mabel rasband of idaho Falls, Mrs. Golden (Mildred) Simmons of Rigby, Mrs. E. J. (Maxine) Smith of Idaho Falls and Mrs. Lois Young of Resburg; 30 grandchildren and 54 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Idaho Falls LDS 9th ward, 2nd and Higbee Idaho Falls, with Bishiop T.D. Madison officiating.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday from noon until time of servifes. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
