CLARA E. JONES, AGED 73, DEAD

Mrs. Clara Ellen Jones, aged 73 widow of Richard Jones, died in an Ogden hospital on
Sunday following four days illness.

She was born on January 29, 1857, in Missouri, and came to Utah in 1878. The family settled
in North Ogden. Mrs. Jones was married in 1885 and lived in Eden until the death of her husband in 1927,
when she moved to Ogden.

Surviving are the following sons and daughters; Mrs. Mille Thurgaurd, Texas; Clarence
Jones, Newell Jones, Lewis Jones of Eden; Fred Jones and Mrs. James O. Southwick of
Ogden; Mrs. John A. Brown, Mrs. Philip Ferrin of Idaho; and Mrs. D. E. Chard of Liberty.
Forty -three children and 17 great -grandchildren, one sister Mrs. S. Cowles of Salt
Lake, and a brother Eugene C. Judkins of North Ogden also survive.

Services will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock in the Nineteenth Ward Chapel,
with Bishop C. Stuart presiding. Friends may call at the home of the daughter, Mrs.
Southwick, 252 Thirty- First Street, this afternoon and evening and Tuesday until hour of
services. Interment will be made in the North Ogden cemetery under the direction of
Lindquist & Sons.
