West Point – Services for Charles Wallace Cox, Sr., 87, who died Feb. 27, 2003, at Clay County Medical Center in West Point, were held 2 pm, March 2, 2003, at Calvert Funeral Home with the Revs. Inge Halbert and John Saxon officiating.

Interment followed in Palo Alto Cemetery.

Mr. Cox was born to John Singleton and Minnie Sue Hood Cox. He married Carolyn Dexter Cox, Jan. 24, 1945. He was a self employed truck driver, a United States Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Siloam United Methodist Church.

Survivors are one son, Charles W Cox, Jr., of West Point; one sister, Mary Kate Cox McCain of Cleveland; one brother, William Purvis Cox of Dublin, Ga.

He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister, Bernice Walker Cox; and one brother, James Travis Cox.

Pallbearers were Rod Sanders, Allan Holliday, Edwin Ellis, Jim Blissard, Russell Jolly, James Saxon, Billie Avent, Charles Ivy, Pete Dexter, Robert Stafford, Jr., and T N Braddock.
