John S. Cox

Services for John Singleton Cox, retired farmer who died October 26 in West Point, were held at Eupora Methodist Church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, October 28. The Rev. E. H. Cunningham officiated. Burial was in Eupora Cemetery under direction of Lee Funeral Home of Winona. Mr. Cox was 66 years of age.

Born in Alva community of Webster County, he farmed there until ill health forced him to retire. He was a Methodist and a Mason. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Edna Cartledge Cox of Winona; two daughters, Miss Bernice Cox of Merigold and Mrs. Walter McCain of Cleveland; three sons, Wallace Cox of West Point, Purvis Cox of Clarksdale and Travis Cox of Cleveland; two brothers, A. L. Cox of Richie and S. L. Cox of Boyle, and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Alton Neal, Howard Caffey, Joe Hunter, Mormon Gordon, Lamar Jones and Barksdale Garner.
