Marjorie H. Drake, 5, of 23370 Alexander Road, North Olmsted, assistant professor of nursing at LCCC was pronounced dead on arrival at St. Joseph Hospital at 3:01 pm.
The LCCC instructor's death was the result of a spectacular four vehicle accident on Detroit Road at 2:30 pm.
Mrs. Drake held a Bachelor of Arts degree from Baldwin Wallace College, Berea, and a Master of Science degree in education from Western Reserve University, Cleveland. She was a member of several professional societies, the League of Women Voters, the North Olmsted Garden Club, the North Olmsted Art League, and the Baldwin-Wallace Women's Club.
Robert A. Schloss, chairman of the LCCC Divison of health careers, described Mrs. Drake as "an extremely dedicated nurse educator. Her death will be a great loss to nursing education and the college"
A nursing scholarship will be put up in Mrs. Drake's name, and Schloss said contributions could be made to the college.
Mrs. Drake is survived by a son, David, a student at the Cleveland Art Institute; her mother, Mrs. Muriel Grubaugh of North Olmsted; three sisters, Jane Krauth and Orrie Albrecht, both of North Olmsted and Myrrhis Dryer of Itasca, IL.; and two brothers, Col. William R. Grubaugh of the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA and Roy F. Grubaugh, Jr. of Northfield.
Her husband, Roy F., is deceased.
Funeral arrangements for Mrs. Drake will be handled by Mandley Funeral Home, Fairview Park.
