Brooklet - Mr. Gerald Tullis Brown, age 82, died Tuesday evening, April 18, 2006, at his daughter's residence after an extended illness, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The native and life-long resident of the Stilson Community was born April 30, 1923. Mr. Brown was a retired real estate appraiser. He was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II.

He was a member of the Old Fellowship Baptist Church, having served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Olive Brown; a sister, Marjorie Upchurch; a brother, Eugene Brown; and a son, Steve Brown.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, June Miller Brown; a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Jimmy Lanier of Brooklet; a daughter-in-law, Joyce Brown of Stilson; grandchildren, Jim Lanier, Jerry Lanier, Joe and Laura Lanier, Stephanie and Joel Osteen, Susan and Mike Townsend and Sarah and Jason Malich; great-grandchildren, Kyle and Luke Osteen and Karah Malich; a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Hazel Brown; and sisters, Olive Ann Groover, Barbara and Paul Forehand and Carol and Jack Shepard.

The funeral service will be Friday at 3 p.m. at the Old Fellowship Baptist Church with Dr. Reland Morgan officiating, assisted by the Rev. Wes Moye.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews. Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
