In 1936, December 26, married Bertha Brandenburg of Whatcom County, in Grays Harbor County, witnessed by brother Wilfred and brother-in-law John A. Braithwaite.
In 1939, Bertha died in Seattle at age 24.
Stanley served as CSK in the US Navy WWII.
1942, January 10, married Ruby Alice Benson of Hoquiam, in Tacoma, witnessed by his siblings Vivian and Wilfred Gunderson.
Adopted Robert Stanley and Kenneth Leroy.
Two sons and families survive: Robert and Sue Gunderson, and Kenneth and Sandy Gunderson, both of Bellingham; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous family and friends.
