Wilfred Edwin Gunderson, age 94, a Ferndale, WA, resident since 1926, passed away on November 3, 2008, in Bellingham. Wilfred was born on January 6, 1914, in Portland, Oregon, to G. George and Edith M. (Gill) Gunderson. He graduated from Western Washington State University and the University of Washington. Wilfred taught in middle and high school, was the librarian in high school and later one of the superintendent's assistants. He served in the Army and was in active duty in WWII from 1941-1945. He played an active role in Evergreen and Hopewell Community Churches Wilfred also ran Gunderson Publication and Rapids Christian Press for the past 14 years. He spent his entire life serving his dear Lord. His saying, was, "Nothing of lasting value except by God's grace, using many godly people." He is survived by his sister, Edith Miller in Shoreline; sister-in-law, Ruby Gunderson of Bellingham; his two adopted sons, David Hung and Nathan Ngai; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, from 11:00 AM -7:00 PM at Moles Funeral Home in Ferndale. Visitation will continue 1 hour prior to the service at the church. A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Saturday, November 8, 2008, at First Baptist Church, 5759 Vista Dr., Ferndale. Burial will be Monday at Woodlawn Cemetery.
