At age 18 she married Albert Brooks in San Angelo, TX. The pair were divorced the following year.
Then, as a young woman she worked at Nazareth Hospital in Mineral Wells, Texas,as part of the NYA (National Youth Association).
Later, while working as a waitress Loraine first saw Horace Bell Peacock and set her sights on him. They married January 3, 1949, with Horace's brother, Howard, a Church of Christ minister, performing the marriage ceremony.
As husband and wife Horace and Loraine owned and operated a honkytonk called "Pat's Place" on a major thoroughfare in Breckenridge, Texas.
Suffering from what was likely Alzheimer's, she died in her sleep at her home in Breckenridge with her grandson Shane and his family caring for her needs.
