William "Marvin" married Sarah Jane Fore on November 11, 1900 in Denton County, Texas. They had five children, four of them living: William Roy, Ruth Pearl, Margaret Evelyn, and Sadie Lucille, at the time of her death in 1913. Marvin then married Rachel Lee Hawkins on December 30, 1917. They had seven children together: Thelma "Loraine", Frances, Dorothy, Harvey, Marvin "Wayne", Troy, and Janie, all born in Texas.
Marvin never learned to drive a car or truck although he did try to learn once. Instead he drove a wagon where ever he needed to go.
Services for William Marvin Hodnett, 74, were held at First Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Robert Richmond, the pastor of Salem Methodist Church.
Mr. Hodnett retired businessman moved to Graham in 1940 from the Jean Community. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He had lived in Young County for many years.
Survived by his wife; four sons - Roy Hodnett, Harvey Hodnett, Wayne Hodnett, Troy Hodnett; seven daughters - Mrs. Pearl Young, Mrs. Evelyn Englert, Mrs. Lucille Crabtree, Mrs. Loraine Peacock, Mrs. Dorothy Baber, Mrs. Frances Knowles, Mrs. Janie Holman; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters - Mrs. Hattie Stansberry and Mrs. Ethel Cain.
