Fortenberry Services held Saturday

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from Saulters Funeral Home Chapel for Mrs. Dezzie Mae Barnes Fortenberry, 69, of Jackson, who died Friday morning at Lakeland Nursing Home in Jackson. Rev. Toxey Hedgepeth and Rev. Harry L. Warren officiated and interment followed in the Hepzibah Cemetery with Saulters Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbearers were Sammy Sandifer, Harold Barnes, Pat Fortenberry, Jeff Fortenberry, Hal Fortenberry and Vernon Lane.

Mrs. Fortenberry was a longtime resident of Jefferson Davis County, but had resided in Jackson for the past several years. She was a member of the Hepzibah Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Cleve Fortenberry of Jackson; three sons, Garvin Fortenberry, G. C. Fortenberry, Milton Fortenberry all of Jackson; six daughters, Mrs. Vera Pritchett, Mrs. Thomas Crider, Mrs. Mildred Porter all of Jackson; Mrs. Robert Myers, McComb; Mrs. Bobbie Beckham, Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. Lloyd H. Daniels, Huntsville, Ala; 16 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Leffie Barnes, Robert Barnes both of Prentiss; one sister, Mrs. W. S. Williams of Prentiss.
