-- CHESTER -- Mr. Amzi Hennis Austin, 68, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at Chester Regional Nursing Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Orrs Baptist Church, with the Rev. Curtis Marshall officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
A native of Chester County, Mr. Austin was a son of the late Sam Austin and Lizzie Cameron Austin. He was a 1957 graduate of Chester High School, was a former member of the National Guard and was a retired guard at the Chester County Stockade. He was a member of Orrs Baptist Church.
Surviving are three brothers, Sam Butler Austin, William Wallace Austin and Jesse Austin of Chester; and his sister, Marie Hayes of Rock Hill.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Memorials may be made to Orrs Baptist Church, 1266 Lancaster Road, Chester, SC 29706.
