Oma Ellen (Jeffords) Billings, the second child of Leland and Frances Jeffords, was born July 12, 1902 at Brocksburg, Nebraska.

Oma spent her childhood and school days near Brocksburg, marrying Harry W. Billings on March 31, 1921. The newly wedded couple settled on a homestead south of Springview with Harry's parents. They resided there until 1938 when they moved to Burton, Nebraska. Another move in 1948 brought them to Springview where Oma lived until July of 1988.

Oma was a loving, caring Mother, Grandmother, and friend who was always busy with her quilting and crocheting. Her faith in the Lord Jesus was a vital part of her life and she shared His love through her life with all who knew her.

She passed away Sunday, October 30, 1988 at her daughter's home in Valentine after a four-month battle with cancer. She was 86 years of age.

Oma was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son, Cecil; brothers Nathan and John Jeffords; and a sister, Venice Sprinkle.

Survivors include son, Jack Billings, Torrington, Wyoming; daughters, Mrs. Wanda Graham of Valentine, Mrs. Wava Adcock, Huntsville, Alabama, Mrs. Dian Egelhoff, Springview, Nebraska; brothers, Max Jeffords, Kadoka, South Dakota and Lester Jeffords, Mesa, Arizona; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held November 2, 1988 at the United Methodist Church of Springview.
