Mary Ellen Platz was the daughter of Isaac and Hannah (Walters) Platz. She married John D. Corbin in Kosciusko County, Indiana on 8 March 1877. Six children survived her.

Corbin - In Knox County, January 20, Mrs. Mary E. Corbin. She was born in Homer County Ohio
February 8, 1860 and was married in March 1877. The funeral service was held in the U. B., Brashear, January 23. Rev. Scull conducted the service.

Mrs. Corbin died one week ago yesterday — Sunday — and her remains were interred at Brashear.
