Joseph Elmer Platz, 78, died at his home in LaPlata this morning at 6:30 o'clock. He suffered a heart attack yesterday morning and steadily grew worse.
Mr. Platz was born July 26, 1864 in La Grange, Indiana. He came to Missouri with his parents in 1880 and they settled at Brashear. In 1890 the family moved to Locust Hill. He was married to Miss Stella Sleeth on April 15, 1888 and they lived on a farm at Locust Hil until six years ago last March when they moved into LaPlata.
Mr. Platz leaves his widow and the following children: Mrs. Elsie May, Carrollton, Mrs. Dale Frye, LaPlata, E.W. Platz, Columbia, Mrs. Claude Newkirk, Clarence and Mrs. May Dorman, Plevna. Two children preceded him in death. He also leaves one brother, A.R. Platz of Brashear.
Funeral arrangements have not been made.
