Theola Jane Cummins, 77, Hines Heights, Somerset, died Sunday, July 22, at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home following a lingering illness.

She was born Sept. 23, 1901, in Wayne County to Ellen Brassfield Nichols and Rev. Doc Nichols. Her husband, Harley H. Cummins, preceded her in death. They were married March 10, 1918.

Survivors include five sons, Harry Cummins, Somerset, William D. Cummins, Somerset, Paul Cummins, Universal City, Texas, Harold Cummins, Midland, Texas, and Bobby Cummins, Greenfield, Ind.; two daughters, Connie Sue Watson, Bossier City, La. and Stella Miller, New Lisbon, Ind.; two sisters, Alice Strunk, Quinton and Beulah Nichols, Tateville; 22 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A housewife, she was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday at the Morris & Hislope Funeral Home chapel, in Science Hill, with Rev. Burnie Manning officiating. Burial will be at Mill Springs National Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
