Funeral services for Elise Hassie Gentry Bess, 76, of Crossville, who passed away Dec. 17, 1999, were held Dec. 20 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with burial in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Clayton Padgett officiated.
She was born Dec. 13, 1923 in Putnam County, TN, the daughter of Arnold and Lona Dodson Gentry.
Mrs. Bess was a factory worker at Roselon Southern, and she attended Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, J.W. Bess of Crossville; son, Ray Gentry of McGray, GA; grandson, Taylor Gentry of McGray, GA; sisters, Laura Hession of Crossville, and Eula Mae Mays of Chico, CA; and brothers, Arlo Gentry and Arnold Gentry Jr., both of Cookeville, TN, and Howard Gentry of Muncie, IN.
Pallbearers were Todd Dixon, Brian Dixon, Marvin Dixon, Cody Dixon, David Hood and Layton Hood.
Bilbrey Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
