Mrs. Paul Christy of Des Moines, 58, former resident of Coon Rapids, died Dec. 13 at Mercy Hospital, Des Moines, after a six weeks' illness.
The funeral service was conducted at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's Catholic Church in Des Moines, with burial in the Coon Rapids Cemetery at approximately 12:15. The rosary was recited at 8 p.m. at the Caldwell-Brien Funeral Home in Des Moines.
Mrs. Christy was the former Wilda Conner, daughter of the late Larry and Grace Conner, and was born July 10, 1909, at Coon Rapids. She was married Aug. 15, 1927, to Paul Christy, also of Coon Rapids, at Coon Rapids. They had lived in Des Moines the last 12 years.
Survivors include her husband; nine children, Mrs. Dean (Virginia) Corson of Coon Rapids, Larry, Frank, Dan, Michelle and Mrs. Gary (Mary Ellen) Clothier, all of Des Moines, Jerry and Patrick in the armed services, and Robert of Sioux City: her stepmother, Nina Conner of Lexington, Nebr.; a half-sister, Nina Meir of Iowa City; a step-sister, Mrs. S. J. Macke, of North Platte, Nebr. and 19 grandchildren.
