Helen Marie Brown, 88, Macomb, died at 6 a.m. Monday, Sept 12, 2005 at her residence.
She was born Nov. 19, 1916, in Pike County, Mo., the daughter of Earl and Janie [Riechard] Hollenback. She married Harold "Brownie" Brown Feb 2, 1935, in Macomb. He preceded her in death March 21, 1990.
She is survived by one son, Donald R. Brown, Henry; two brothers, Lester Hollenback, Deltona, FL, and Earl Hollenback, Jr., Macomb; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosie Brown; one sister in infancy; and one brother.
She lived in Macomb sidce 1934. She and her husband ran an antique shop out of their home. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Macomb VFW Auxiliaries and attended the Macomb Baptist Church. She enjoyed harness horse racing and owned three race horses. She also enjoyed playing cards.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2005, at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Macomb with the Rev. Michael Hoffman officiating. There will be no family visitation.
Memorials may be made to the McDonough District Hospital Hospice Program. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb, is in charge of arrangements.
