Former Truckee Matron Passes.
Mrs. Hannah Clara Harvey, 85, member of a pioneer family of Downieville, Calif died Friday in a Sacramento hospital. A requiem mass was offered at the Truckee Catholic church Monday followed by burial in the Truckee Catholic Cemetery.
Mrs. Harvey, whose parents William B. and Mary Ford Cory crossed the plains from Ohio in a covered wagon in the 1850s was born in Downieville. She moved to Truckee at the age of five and her father was a gold miner and operated a restaurant and a lumber business. She had made her home in Sacramento since the death of her husband, Irving Harvey, 25 years ago.
A son Charles Harvey of Truckee and two daughters, Mrs. Edith Hart of Petaluma and Mrs. Gertrude Forest of Sacramento survive.
