SORROW IN HOME OF MR. AND MRS. HARVEY—Death claimed Little Irving Harvey Last Sunday Afternoon.
All that was mortal of Little Irving Harvey, son of Mr. and Mrs. I.F. Harvey, was laid at rest in the Catholic cemetery yesterday afternoon and the mound over the grave was hidden beneath a mountain of flowers.
After an illness of several weeks, commencing with whooping cough and ending in throat and lung affectations the young life ended Sunday in spite of the efforts of physicians to combat the disease.
Little Irving was a bright lad and had seen but ten summers. He was born in Truckee and all of his young life was spent here. He had a cheery disposition that won for him friends among his elders as well as among his youthful companions. He was a comfort and joy to his parents and the sympathy of the community is extended to them in this, the sad hour of their bereavement.
The funeral was held yesterday, religions services being held at the home of the parents at 2 o'clock. The business houses were closed from 1 o'clock until 3 and the proprietors and employees were present at the funeral. The public school was closed during the afternoon to give the pupils and teachers a chance to attend. Great numbers of floral pieces were sent by friends of the little boy and of the family, tokens of esteem and sympathy.
