Mrs. Hewett was born in Brunswick County, NC, on December 15, 1909, to the late Isaiah David and Mary Etta Hewett Fulford. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Charles S. Hewett, Sr. sons, Charles S. Hewett, Jr., and his wife Betty Anne, Beamon Hewett, Gene A. Hewett, a daughter, Barbara Gore; two grandchildren, Scott Hewett and Morgan Gore and eleven siblings.
Survivors include a son, Tony Hewett and wife Melissa; three daughters, Betty Jablonski and husband Harry, Bernice Johnson and husband William, Carol Reynolds and husband Kellum; two daughters-in-law, Ruth Hewett, Nelda Hewett; a son-in-law, Odell Gore; twenty nine grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; eleven great great-grandchildren and a sister, Della Pigott.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 15, 2010 in Calvary Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM, Friday, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Justin Jablonski, Daniel Jablonski, Timmy Jablonski, Brian Raleigh, Jacob Raleigh and Billy Spicer.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Adult Sunday School Class of Calvary Baptist Church.
