Born in Brunswick County, April 6, 1938, she was a longtime member of Ogden Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Johnson, her parents, Charles S. Hewett, Sr. and Lydia Fulford Hewett, and her daughter, Deborah L. Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail Milliken and her husband George Wayne of Wilmington; her adopted grandchildren, Holly Johnson Rodden and Jeremiah Edward Johnson; her sisters, Betty Jean Jablonski of Shallotte and Carol Hewett Reynolds of Bolivia; her best friend, Nancy Herndon, 5 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Carolyn Parrish Sellers for all of the help given to the family.
Her visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Freedom Baptist Church, 802 N. College Rd in Wilmington. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will be in Oleander Memorial Park.
