Mrs. Barbara Hewett Gore, 71, of Bolivia died Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at her home.
Mrs. Gore was born September 27, 1934, in Brunswick County and was the daughter of the late Charles S. Hewett Sr. and Lydia Fulford Hewett. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Gore was preceded in death by a son, Morgan Dale Gore, and two brothers, Charles S. Hewett Jr. and Beamon Hewett.
She is survived by her husband, Odell Gore; two children, Karen Gore Crouse of Bolivia and Tony Hewett and wife Melissa of Shallotte; four grandchildren, Morgan Ashley Gore Crouse, Randa Kaye Crouse, Douglas Hewett and Kayla Hewett; three sisters, Betty Jablonski and husband Harry of Shallotte, Berniece Johnson and husband William of Wilmington, Carol Reynolds and husband Kellum of Bolivia; a brother, Gene Hewett and wife Ruth of Memphis, Tenn.
Funeral services were held Saturday at Mill Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Avery Lumsden officiating. Burial followed in the Willetts Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Phillips, Kent Phillips, Brent Phillips, Elbert Mobley, Douglas Hewett and Daniel Ballard.
