Katharina (sometimes spelled Katherine/Catherine) was born in Oberhoffen Sur Moder, Alsace, France. Alsace was part of Germany at the time she was born and until the end of WWI. Catherine's parents were Jean Herrmann and Salome (Shuster) Herrman. She married Martin Schaub on 26 Oct 1871 in Oberhoffen Sur Moder. They had ten children, 9 sons and one daughter. The family immigrated to the USA in the 1880s.
In Oct 2012, Katharina's headstone had sadly been vandalized and was laying down on the ground.
