Mary Ellen Dowdy, 56, of Paducah died at 7:50 a.m... Sunday at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville.
Mrs. Dowdy was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Paducah.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Lynn Dowdy; one son, Bryan Dowdy of El Monte, Calif.; one daughter, Rebecca Beasley of Paducah; two sisters, Louise Myrick of Reidland and Sue Nell Spees of Paducah, and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia G. St. John and Herman Irvin Pate; one son, Anthony Ray Shaffer, and two sisters.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Roth Funeral Chapel with the Rev. George Hodge officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Mayfield.
Visitation will be after 11 a.m. today at the funeral home.
