##PANHANDLE - (Spc) - Services for Maggie Mae Carson, 75, were at 2 p.m. today in Smith-Fox Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Newton, pastor of First Assembly of God Church in Borger, officiating. Burial was in Panhandle Cemetery by Smith-Fox Funeral Directors. Mrs. Carson died Monday in Borger.##

~~She was born in Butler, Custer county, Oklahoma to Baker Duey Caswell Eddings and Delila Elizabeth (Stephens) Eddings. One of eight children, the family took care of animals, farming and her favorite, the garden. She met her husband, Ira Thomas Carson at the local dry goods store. They married right after harvesting time in the fall of 1925 in Kingston, Okla. After two sons born, they moved to Barnitz, Custer county Oklahoma. Then settling on the Raymond Gary (Okla. governor) ranch, the family worked on the land. Shortly losing son, Virgil, they moved to Paducah, Cottle county, Texas. No matter where they lived, she had a garden for all the grand kids to enjoy in taking care of it and learning how to can and cook. The last 17 years of her life with her husband was spent in Panhandle, Carson county, Texas. Ira preceded her in death. ~~ Preceding in death were her sisters, Jocie Sharit,and Eva Effie, and one brother Aaron Caswell,and, one great grand daughter Charleta Faye Carson.
##Survivors include three sons, Arthur Carson of Oklahoma City, Dean Carson of Marlow, Okla., and Shirley Carson of Borger; a daughter, Christine Jeter of Wichita Falls; two brothers, B C Eddings of Woodville, Okla., and Cleo Eddings of Mansville, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Dolly Roby (Orvel) of Borger and Mrs. Janie Mitchell of Stinnett;##
four grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
