Mrs. Minnie Brown Dies While Visiting Relatives

Mrs. Minnie Brown, wife of Frank Brown, of 1015 Haynes Avenue this city, passed away Saturday night in East Chicago Illinois where the couple had gone to visit a daughter.

She was 85 years, nine months and 27 days of age and was born in Coal County Illinois July 16, 1875. She was a daughter of Samuel and Levina Law Garrett.

Miss Garrett united in marriage with Frank Brown May 7, 1899. Mr. and Mrs. Brown had just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband and four children, who are; Mrs. Merle Cole, of East Chicago, Mrs. Pearl Litchfield, of Ames, Iowa; Mrs. Maxine Clouser, of Ames; and Walter Brown, of Ontario, California.

There are 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her son Lorel Brown in 1924. She was a long time member of the Methodist church and the Women's Relief Corps.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm from the Johnson Funeral home with Rev. Frank Johnson, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating and burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
