Mrs. Mildred Carpenter Davis Henson, 80 of Madison, died February 5, 2015 after a brief illness. She was the daughter of Lester and Georgia Mae Lynch Carpenter.
Mrs. Henson was born October 30, 1934 in Buckhead. She was married to the late D.M. Davis and later to Wayne Henson.
Mrs. Henson retired from Ag South and later worked for the Bank of Madison. She was a member of Rutledge Baptist Church. She was a loving sister and Aunt. While Mrs. Henson had no children of her own, she was known as “Aunt Millie” to many people.
She enjoyed crocheting and reading. She enjoyed trips to the beach and loved Christmas but she most enjoyed helping others.
Mrs. Henson is survived by her sister Harriet Carpenter Young and brother, Jerry Martin Carpenter. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cathey Carpenter Jones. She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Henson’s family will receive friends on Saturday from 5-8pm at A.E. Carter Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2pm at Rutledge Baptist Church. Interment will follow at the Buckhead Cemetery.
