Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Virginia Lee Brooker, 82, of Orangeburg, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at St. George Baptist Church in Orangeburg, with the Rev. Jimmy Hanf officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg. The casket will be placed in the church one hour before the service.
Pallbearers will be Harold Lee, Freddie Lee, Chris Lee, Morgan Lee, Gerald Lee Jr. and Harry Shroat III.
Mrs. Brooker died Thursday, Nov. 2, at Jolly Acres Health Care Center in Orangeburg.
She was born April 5, 1924, in Orangeburg; the daughter of the late Stanmore Sawyer Lee and the late Maude Walton Lee. She was a graduate of Orangeburg High School and
Orangeburg Business School. She was retired from Austell Flinton Brokerage Company. Mrs. Brooker was a member of St. George Baptist Church; the Cheerful Helpers Sunday School class; a Sunday School teacher for many years; president of the W.M.U.; the leader of Girls in Action for many years and served on various other committees; a member of the American Legion and a member of the
Edisto Fork Grange.
She was the widow of Gary E. Brooker Jr. Survivors include
one daughter, Mrs. James O. (Joan) Dupree Sr., of Orangeburg; and granddaughter, Mrs. Erik (Jill) Hinds, of Orangeburg; great-grandchildren, Mark Hinds, Joanna
Hinds, all of Orangeburg; grandson, Jimmy (Jenny) Dupree, of Jacksonville, Fla., great-grandchildren, J. J. Dupree , Morgan Dupree and Spencer Dupree; grandson, Joe Dupree, of Orangeburg; grandson, Jack (Jennifer) Dupree and great-grandson, Jacob Dupree , all of Summerville; one son, David W. (Merlyn) Brooker, of Orangeburg; granddaughter, Mrs. Chris (Tiki) Grubbs and great-grandchildren,
Alec Dukes, Colby Grubbs and Cameron Grubbs, all of Orangeburg; grandson, Kris and Crystal Davis; great-grandchildren, Nicklos Johnson, Emily Davis and Kaitlin
Smith, all of Orangeburg; granddaughter, Mrs. Harold (Tanya) Littrell; great-grandchildren, Shane Davis, Brandon Littrell, and Hailie Littrell, all of

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home Inc. in Orangeburg.
