Erma Grace Guaetta, 85, of Johnstown, formerly of New Florence and Robinson, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2008 at Windber Hospice. She was born Sept. 8, 1923, in Brush Valley, Indiana County, daughter of the late James and Chrissie McClain McElwee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Domenick; sisters Irene Nelson and Margaret Sprinkle; and brothers Boyd McElwee and James McGarvey. Erma and Dom were blessed with two children, Donald and Christina Elaine, with whom she resided for the last four years. Erma appreciated being nearer to close relatives and rekindling old and making new friendships. She was a kind and generous person who took great joy in helping others. She was renowned as a terrific cook and talented seamstress. She was sincere in her faith and her dedication to God. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Johnstown, and former owner/ operator of New Florence Laundry and Dry Cleaning. She was, indeed, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and sister whose kind spirit and unfailing support will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Erma is survived by her son, Don and wife Deanna (Leary), Lehigh Acres, Fla.; daughter Christina Elaine; one grandchild, Sheri (Bennett) and husband Dr. Richard Lynch Jr. There are three great- grandchildren, Morgan, Richie III and Gracie, in addition to many nieces, nephews and cousins. A service was held Thursday at Kenneth A. Stuart Funeral Home, New Florence, the Rev. Dennis Zimmerman officiating. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery, Clyde.
