Sadie "Emma" Bennett, age 87 of Neodesha, Kansas went to be with the Lord, Friday, January 4, 2002 at the Fredonia Regional Medical Center.
Emma was born December 30, 1914 in Coyville, Kansas to William H. and Harriett A. (Pratt) Lawrence. Emma grew up on the family farm outside Coyville, Kansas and attended schools in the Coyville area.
On June 24, 1935 Emma married Estel Howard Bennett in Yates Center, Kansas. They lived most of their lives in the Wilson County Area.
Emma was a devoted homemaker. Estel preceded her in death on March 17, 1996. She was a charter member of the Neodesha Bible Baptist Church.
Survivors include six sons Robert Bennett of Shawnee, Kansas; Warren Bennett of Kansas City, Kansas; Leonard Bennett of Little Rock, Arkansas; Curtis Bennett of Cleveland, North Carolina; Lawrence Bennett of Dallas, Texas and Vern Bennett of Claremore, Oklahoma; six daughters Naomi Garber of Shawnee, Kansas; Joyce Anderson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; Lena Cunningham of Basehor, Kansas; Linda Boyer of Liberty, Missouri; Lola Shoemake of Allen, Texas and Carolyn German of Johnson, Kansas; two brothers Glenn Lawrence of Toronto, Kansas and Earl Lawrence of Dalton, Georgia; two sisters Dorothy Taylor of Wichita, Kansas and Juanita Earl of Abilene, Texas; 27 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Estel, six brothers, one sister, one grandchild and one great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Neodesha Bible Baptist Church.
Burial will follow at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
Visitation hours will be held from from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2001 with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home in Neodesha, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorials to the Neodesha Bible Baptist Church and contributions may be left at the Loran Fawcett Funeral Home.
