FREDONIA, KS - Glenn Albert Lawrence, 84, Fredonia, Kansas, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Beverly Health & Rehab, Fredonia, Kansas.

He was born Dec. 14, 1920, at rural Toronto, Kansas, the son of Bill and Harriet (Pratt) Lawrence.

He served in the United States Army Air Force from 1942-45.

He was employed as a scale house operator by Archer Daniels Midland for 24 years.

He was a member of Toronto United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and the Toronto and Fredonia Senior Citizens Centers.

On Oct. 1, 1942, he married Wilma Bennett in Victoria, Texas. She survives.

Other survivors include two daughters, Mary Underwood, Fredonia, KS, and Connie Carter, Wichita, KS; a son, David Lawrence, Independence, KS; two sisters, Dorothy Taylor, Wichita, KS, and Juanita Earl, Abilene, TX; a brother, Earl Lawrence, Dalton, GA; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Lawrence; a granddaughter, Tina Marie Underwood; six brothers, Keith, William Paul, Roy Pratt, Ralph, Orville, and Richard; and two sisters, Faye Hibbard and Emma Bennett.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2005, at Toronto United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Toronto Cemetery, Toronto, Kansas.

Memorials to the Toronto United Methodist Church may be sent to the funeral home.
