Curtis Harlen Bennett, age 72 of Cleveland, NC went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 17, 2015.

Born on May 19, 1943 in Wichita, KS, he was the son of the late Estel Howard and Sadie Emma Bennett. After he graduated from Altoona High School, he served in the Kansas National Guards. He lived the early part of his adult life in Southeast Kansas working as an electrical technician in the wood industry. He moved to Cleveland, NC as a Plant Operations Manager, and later started his own company.

He was a wonderful, loyal and devoted father, brother and friend. He was kind, friendly and giving to strangers. He loved life and lived it to the fullest, content that he has accomplished all of the things that he had set out to do.

Curtis is survived by his three children Christine Dahlheimer of Simpsonville, SC; Samuel Bennett of Summerville, NC and Julie Bennett of Salisbury, NC; five brothers Robert Bennett, Warren Bennett, Leonard Bennett, Lawrence Bennett, and Lavern Bennett; six sisters Naomi Garber, Joyce Anderson, Lena Cunningham, Linda Boyer, Lola Shoemake, Carolyn Davidson Johnson; and one grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the Neodesha Bible Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home. Visitation hours will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 with the family receiving friends at Timmons Funeral Home in Fredonia, KS.
