ANDREW L. FREEHAFER was the son of John and Barbara Ann Seifried Freehafer.

He married Miss Martha Ellen Kinton, daughter of John and Mary Williams Kinton, on February 24, 1862, in Richland County, Ohio. They were the parents of five known children- Mary Catherine Freehafer who married George Washington Cotsenmoyer, Louella M. "Ella" Freehafer, she died at age 16 and is buried at Bunker Hill Cemetery, near Butler, Albertus Leroy "A.L." Freehafer who practiced law, William Emerson Freehafer Sr. who died in Payette County, Idaho and baby Earnest Freehafer who died at age 2 and is buried at Bunker Hill Cemetery.

1880 Federal Census lists Andrew as "Married to Martha and Farming," children living with them, Mary, Louella M., Albertus L. and William E.

Andrew was a member of the Public Utilities Commission.

After the death of his wife Martha in 1911, Andrew moved to Adams County, Idaho and resided there with his son William E. Freehafer until his death on March 18, 1915. Funeral services were conducted at Council, Adams County, Idaho and then Andrew's body was returned to Worthington Township and buried at the family plot at Bunker Hill Cemetery, near Butler, Richland County, Ohio.
