Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in First United Methodist Church of Rochester with the Rev. Aubrey Headstream, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home of Knox City.
Bell was born May 5, 1879 in Tyler, Texas and had resided in Rochester 62 years. A member of First United Methodist Church since 1916, he was former superintendent of the Sunday school and a member of the board of stewards 28 years. He was a retired farmer, contractor and groceryman and served on the board of directors of Home State Bank of Rochester from 1932 until 1972.
Survivors include two sons, Hubert of Haskell and Howard of Brownwood, Texas; two daughters, Mrs Earl Alvis of Rochester and Mrs Mennol Hester of Lubbock, Texas; a sister Mrs. Era Tanner of Turlock, Calif.; a brother Joe of Bovina, Texas; nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
