Martha Luella Williams, daughter of James Williams and Caroline Hatcher Williams, was born April 5, 1861. She married Henry Gordon Higgerson on October 16, 1881 in Randolph County, Illinois. She was about twenty years younger than Henry, and they were separated in 1901, after which she moved to Oregon. There, she obtained a divorce and married Albert Hall. She died in December 14, 1921 and is buried in Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, Los Angeles County, California. The funeral notice that appeared in the Los Angeles Times on December 16, 1921, states: "HALL. At 1046 East Thirty-ninth street, Mrs. Martha Luella Hall, aged 60 years, beloved wife of Albert Hall, mother of John E. Hall of Los Angeles, Clarence and Alonzo Hall of Cutler, Ill., and Cleo Hall of Belair, Ill. Funeral services today at 3 pm from the funeral parlors of W.A. Brown, 1835 South Flower Street."
