BEALS
Myrtle May Kelsey Beals, oldest daughter of D. A. and Louie C. Kelsey, was born February 6, 1884, near Russell, and passed away March 23, 1975, at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital, Chariton, at the age of 91 years, 1 month and 17 days.
She accepted Christ as her saviour when yet a teenager. She was a lifelong resident of Russell, having been graduated from Russell High School in 1903. She taught school for three years, and in 1906 was united in marriage to Archie E. Beals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. A. E. Beals; a daughter, Marjorie Ruth, age 5; and infant daughter, Mary Grace; by her parents and one sister, Grace McKinley.
Surviving are three children: Mrs. Arthur J. (Dorothy) Johnson of Estherville; Albert K. Beals of Perry; and Dr. Paul A. Beals of Grand Rapids, Mich.; also five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Wayne A. Snyder assisted by the Rev. L. B. Deedrick at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 25, at the First Baptist Church in Russell. Interment was in the Russell Cemetery. The Fielding Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
