Lucy Ora Adams, 86, died Friday morning, March 4, 1988 in the North Big Horn Hospital in Lovell after a long illness. She was born February 8, 1902 in Paragonah, Utah the daughter of John C. and Adelaide Asay Houston. She came to the Lovell area as an infant with her parents. She married Thomas Marion Adams January 15, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah. They made their home near Lovell where they farmed for many years. Mr. Adams died in 1979. Mrs. Adams was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served two missions for the church and as Relief Society President. She worked in all auxiliary programs and especially enjoyed play productions as drama coach. She belonged to the Homemaker's Club and had served on the Senior Citizen's Board.
Survivors include four daughters, Gloria Dawn Robison of Orem, Utah, Patricia Ruth Wellman of Casper, Wyoming, Adele Swift of Derwood, Maryland, and Kathy Bischoff of Lovell, four sisters, Freida Nottage of Las Vegas, Nevada, Vera Camp of Whittier, California, Alice Rasmussen of Price, Utah, and La Vonne Oveson of Orem, Utah, 14 Grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son Thomas Marion Adams, Jr., two brothers, and one sister.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 8, 1988 at 10:00 a.m. in the Lovell Stake Center with Bishop Donald Dover officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.
