Obituary - John Cooper Houston, 83, passed away at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Wilford Oveson at Orem, Utah, Jan. 22 at 10 p.m. of a paralytic stroke. He had been a resident of Big Horn Basin since 1902. He was a retired school teacher and was born August 24, 1876, at Panguitch, Utah, the son of James and Lucy Houston.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nellie Houston of Kingman, Ariz.; five daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Lucy) Adams of Lovell; Mrs. L. B. (Vera) Camp of Whittier, Calif.; Mrs. Harry (Frieda) Nottage of Laramie; Mrs. Arthur (Alice) Rasmussen of Price, Utah and Mrs. Wilford (La Von) Oveson of Orem, Utah; one son, James C. Houston of Salt Lake City; one brother, David Houston of Salt Lake City; 23 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
