Death claimed Mrs. J. A. Hansen on Saturday afternoon, after a lingering illness with bowel trouble, for the relief of which she had undergone a surgical operation at the Plymouth hospital, on Friday morning.

Line Sophia Boie was born April 19, 1871, in the town of New Holstein, on the place now owned by Mrs. Popp, about two miles northeast of this village, where she grew to womanhood.

She was married Nov. 26, 1891, to J. A. Hansen, and the couple resided in New Holstein, where Mr. Hansen conducted a saloon for many years.

Mrs. Hansen was in poor health for the last year, and became seriously ill on Wednesday of last week, which necessitated her removal to the hospital where an operation was performed on her Friday, but she was past all human aid, and passed way the following day.

She is survived by her bereaved husband, one son, Harvey of New Holstein, and Mrs. Arno Schmidt of Hilbert; also five grandchildren, two brothers, John of Thorp and William of Portland, Ore., and three sisters, Minnie of Denver, Colo., Anna Paulsen of Manitowoc and Celie Matzen of New Holstein.

The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon, and interment was made in the New Holstein cemetery. Rev. A. C. Plappert officiated at the obsequies.
